Annapurna, lit. filled with or possessed of food) is an aspect of devi and is known as hindu goddess of food and nourishment. mata annapurna can be kept in two places, one being in the pooja /mandir of one's house or in the kitchen. in case of the kitchen you can keep it in the north east corner of the kitchen such that it is facing the west direction and the person offering prayers is facing the east direction. do not make a mandir or keep god idols in the kitchen as per vastu. if you place a photo of maa annapoorna devi in the kitchen, it is best to place it on the west wall. avoid placing the kitchen sink and the gas burner next to each other
